Six Flags Vs Kings Dominion

I am a big roller coaster fan but so far the only big amusement park that I have visited is Six Flags America, now I want to try new roller coasters but my kids love Six Flags and because it is closer that means a faster fun for them so they don't want to go to Kings Dominion which is where I want to go, they complain about the time they are going to be in the car and possibility of leaving the park earlier to make it home around the same time we come from Six Flags.

My friend Jasper keeps telling me that Kings Dominion Roller coasters are better and he points out a the one called Intimidator 305 that is 100 feet taller than Six Flags' Superman that is enough motivation for me to try to go there because I love Superman and I can only figure out that I will enjoy a lot more getting on a faster and taller roller coaster, that's why I wanted to go to Six Flags great adventure just to ride Kingda Ka which is the fastest and taller roller coaster in the world but that is out of the question right now given that this park is even farther than King's Dominion from my home.

Great Adventure have not only Kingda Ka but also have El toro which is one of the top ten Wooden Roller coaster in USA plus several others.

Kings Dominion have also the Volcano and some more that I really would like to ride, but I am forgetting about the main part and that is that my kids just like the water part of the park and I am always on the dry part of the park so I can not evaluate both parks on those areas so I can not tell them how good is one park going to be over the other and I would like to read your comments about how good is one park over the other, you can include a comparisson including Hershey Park (Fahrenheit is a great Roller Coaster too) that park is a liitle more than 2 hour from my home.
